i was reflecting this afternoon on how vastly different each of my four most recent moves have been. the longest ago one was packing up what steph and i could salvage from the mold attack on our apt, to move back into her parents house. It was hurried, and full of disappointment and bad feelings. we had had high hopes for the apt, our forward step from the disaster that was our attemp at owning a place. the next one was the "divorce" move. again full of bad feelings, and the entirety of my belongings were packed more or less under supervision, as we devided our belongings, and she tried to make sure i wasn't taking anything she felt i shouldn't. the next move was from my sisters house, my haven after my separation from my wife. it was with some mixed feelings that i moved from there, since i liked living with her. but she needed her own family free space, so off i went. i was free from supervision in that move at least, and it was, for the most part, very relaxed. I was able to move things over time, and didn't have to worry i was leaving something accidentally behind, because i could always retrieve it later, when i realized it was missing. this move is an overdue one. it again harbors some ill feeling, as i try to deal with a housemate who seems more off her rocker by the day. my worry this time is that i will forget something somewhere in the house, and so i've started my packing early, which is quite an accomplishment for me. i am hoping to be completely packed by the time moving day arrives, so that all i have to do is load boxes and furniture. i am taking the time to look at multiple places this time too, in the hopes that i will find a better living situation for myself and my fur babies. one up side to this move, is that i think i'm finally getting the hang of looking for places on my own. it's a nice reminder to myself that i AM capable of being self-sufficient, something i tend to forget periodically.

I sat down tonight, and wrote this poem... not with anyone particular in mind, but simply as an expression of my thoughts and desires...
My rules are very simple
My rules are very plain
Don't leave another for me
For to me you'll do the same
Don't treat me like a treasure
You set upon a shelf
Just love me and respect me
As you would want yourself
Take time to get to know me
The dreams within my heart
Think of me with fondness
When we spend time apart
Set time aside to hold me
And times we can be wild
Learn to love my dark side
And my inner child
We won't always agree
That's not my expectation
But meet me in the middle
And I need communication
Be honest with me always
Share what is on your mind
What goal do you aspire to
Or deepest fear do hide
I want a friend and lover
A partner by my side
Will you be all i'm asking
And by these rules abide? ~ Eren, 2/22/09

"After less than a minute Miss Tick had crafted a shamble out of:
One twelve-inch ruler
One bootlace
One piece of secondhand string
Some black thread
One pencil
One pencil sharpener
A small stone with a hole in it
A match box containing a mealworm called Roger, along
with a scrap of bread for him to eat, because every
shamble must contain something living
About half a packet of Mrs. Sheergold's Lubricated Throat
Lozenges
A button"

Well, it seems that we’re getting close to the time of year again for my birthday hike! This year i’m reaching that fabulous milestone of 30 years! :D I’m hoping for a good turn out, but i’ll be just as happy with a couple of good friends by my side... I’ve decided this time to limit the inclusion of children to only those who are able to keep up with the adults without assistance, ie, don’t need to be carried or led by the hand during the majority of the hike... The reason for this being we have less daylight to work with this time of year, and i want to be able to summit in a reasonable amount of time. The current plan is to meet at the base, at Monadnock State Park in Jaffrey, at 9AM, on November 15th. Please dress in layers, as the temperature varies drastically between the base and the summit, and please bring lots of water for the hike up and down, as well as snacks/lunch for during the hike. I think that’s about all for now, and I hope to see you on the 15th!
For more details, etc, e-mail me with your e-mail address, and i will send you the e-vite... and remember, the more the merrier, so pass the word along!

Your result for Which Chess Piece are You Test?...
The Bishop's Clerk
Congrats! Only 6-8% of the population score this!

The Bishops Clerk is both an idea and people person. Everyone and everything is part of a bizarre cosmic whole. They really do want to help and be liked and admired by others. By principle they are intrigued by new ideas but ultimately discard most for one reason or another. They are zany with charm which can allow them to warm up to even the stodgy types. They are outgoing, fun, and they genuinely like people. This Clerk is warm and affectionate and spontaneous.
This Clerk can have strong, if unconventional convictions which are usually tied into their cosmic view. They will often use their social skills and contacts to persuade others gently of the rightness behind their views. They may tie themselves with trying to save the world and end up forgetting the nearest and dearest to them (if only in a temporary sense.)
People will love working with the Bishop’s Clerk because they are easygoing, pleasant and great at brainstorming. They are wonderful in groups of people but need fresh projects to work on. They dislike bureaucracy in principle and practice; they will make a point of launching crusades against some aspect of the political agenda. It is honesty they are fighting for. The Bishop’s Clerk is a type of Pawn, but fret not, the Pawn is idealized because of its potential to do many great things and to think of the rest of humanity.

So, yeah, i'm still a newbie in this game, with only one and a half events, and a couple months of fight practice under my belt... But this is something i've wanted to get involved with for years... Now that I've finally gotten that opportunity, i'm loving every second of it... I think it would be a shame to lose people who make this game what it is over something that out of a weekend of wonderful things took up a microsecond of time... Things like that, they don't deserve the attention given them... Every time something happens to you, Life hands you two choices... You can let it destroy you, destroy your life, your health, your friendships, make you depressed or angry or sad... Or you can let it go, say "fuck that, i won't be miserable over something that stupid", and move on... Life is too short to be miserable... Me, i'm gonna go spend some time with all of my new friends from Realms now... Hope to see you there...

What Tree Are You? (Celtic astrology) created with QuizFarm.com | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| You scored as The Reed In Celtic astrology, you're a Reed (not everything on the zodiac is a tree). The animal symbol that accompanies this plant is the hound. The ancient Druids say Reed people are loyal, independent, fearless, thrive on challenges and never lose faith in themselves. However, Reeds may be prone to stubbornness, too much pride and too much risk-taking.
